Hi all, it's been a while hasn't it? University has well and truly taken over my life, so I haven't been on here in a while. Not much has changed, but I thought Id return to the old blog for one very important post that I want to share with you all...
Earlier on I was sitting in my university library thinking about my peers - the very strong, very beautiful and very intelligent women with whom I shared a classroom four or five times a week. I thought about how many of them counted themselves as feminist; as far as I know, it's almost all of them, and came up with an idea.
Late May and over summer, my peers and I intend to gather a collection of short stories, poems, memoirs or non-fiction pieces of what it is to be a woman. I'm talking periods, I'm talking ovaries, I'm talking relationships, I'm talking all of the horrible things we have been through, or the elation we've experiences as females. This little collection will form a book, which eventually we hope to publish, either independently, online, or through some other means by which we haven't decided. So far I've presented this idea to my wonderful Westminster peers, but I want to go further, after having seen on twitter, facebook and other forms of social media the type of blogging young women are putting out to the masses, I think it would e a great idea to search for volunteers and contributors here too.
If you're interested in this prospect, whatever may come of it in the end, feel free to message me, to tweet me, to instagram me or to email me. I don't care how you do it, but we want YOU to contribute your own piece to us.
It's all very exciting, getting a bright idea right in the middle of the busiest University period of the year.
Lots and lots of love,
Jess xxxx
