TIPS FOR NAIL ART D.I.Y STYLE:
1. Always make sure that the nails are clean - try to file them for a smooth surface first before applying any coats.
2. False nails aren't just salon-exclusive - most of the nails in these pictures are fake and can be bought in bulk from Boots or Superdrug. All you need is some extra glue to hand at all times in case of emergencies. Unless you're blessed with long nails this is a must.
3. Try TOPSHOP and other such high street stores - they've begun to stock plenty of nail art goodies and a lot of them might be something you've never tried before.
4. Cotton buds and nail varnish remover should be on hand to tidy the area around the nail after finishing.
5. With studs, I find it's much easier to stick them on with nail glue and not rely on them to stick to the still-wet base coat. Always put a clear layer on after to make sure they stay put.
6. Nail Rock wraps may look like the best bet, but they un-stick very quickly and can look messy around the ends of the nails. Ignore the instructions - don't file them off, use nails scissors for a cleaner finish. I find it's better to apply the wrap, and use a hair dryer to heat it up and make it pliable to fit perfectly to the nail.
Have fun experimenting - nail art is a trend that is here to stay!
